A hand carved wooden mud kitchen spoon, shaped like a mushroom cap.
The Moss Cap Spoon is a hand carved wooden play spoon from the Enchanted Garden collection, shaped like a mushroom pushing up through pine needles. Half toadstool, half button mushroom, entirely up to whoever is holding it.
It gets used for scooping soil, stirring rainwater and folding petals through mud, and it holds up to being left out on the back step between games. The bowl is deep enough for a small hand to grip properly, which counts for a lot when a child is three and still working out how a spoon behaves. Carved by hand from Doussie, a Vietnamese plantation timber, then sanded, polished and finished with food-grade oil. No two come out the same, so grain and colour shift from piece to piece.
