The Children’s Heirloom Doctor Kit is a vintage-style Gladstone bag, handmade in vegan leather with brass fittings, holding a working stethoscope and eleven beautifully made pieces. Real tools, properly made, for whoever’s running the clinic today.
The stethoscope carries real sound, so a heartbeat comes through clearly when they listen for one. They check, they listen, they decide what’s needed. A sore arm gets wrapped. The patient form gets filled in, very seriously. And at the end, if it’s called for, the felt heart gets handed over like the most important part of the whole visit.
The 11-piece set includes wool felt and FSC wood instruments alongside the stethoscope, a wipe-clean patient form, and the full-size doctor’s bag. This is the gift you buy when you want it to mean something.
The Gladstone bag measures 29cm × 15cm × 22cm, with room for the next house call. Designed in Australia and made to be played with for years, not grown out of in a season. Every bag is finished by hand, so small variations in colour and finish are part of what makes each one unique.

Frequently asked questions
What age is the Doctor Kit designed for?
Ages 3 to 6 is the sweet spot, athough many children play with it well into primary school. The instruments are sized for small hands and the play naturally deepens as they grow. Please note the kit contains small parts and is not suitable for children under three.
Does the stethoscope work?
Yes. The stethoscope is a real, functional acoustic instrument-little ones can press it to a chest and hear an actual heartbeat. It's designed for imaginative play and early learning, not medical use however, and we recommend adult supervision when your child is using it.
What are the instruments and bag made from?
The wooden instruments are crafted from FSC-certified beechwood with smooth, child-safe finishes. The felt accessories are hand-sewn from 100% wool felt. The gladstone bag is premium vegan leather with brass fittings, a fully lined interior, and reinforced corners.
Will this Doctor Kit last?
The wooden instruments are built to handle years of enthusiastic play, the felt pieces are hand-sewn for longevity and the gladstone bag is designed to outlast the early childhood years with regular play and care.
How will my child learn from playing with this Doctor Set?
Children use pretend play to rehearse things that feel unfamiliar, and a check-up sits high on that list. Care
Wood Care wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid soaking in water, and if wood feels dry, a light rub with beeswax or food-grade mineral oil will restore its lustre. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.
Felt CareThe wool felt pieces are delicate by nature spot clean with a damp cloth and a drop of gentle wool wash if needed. Do not machine wash, wring, or tumble dry. Lay flat to air dry away from direct heat. With gentle handling, the felt will hold its shape for years of play.
Vegan Leather CareThe structured gladstone bag is crafted from vegan leather with brass fittings. Wipe the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dust or marks avoid harsh cleaners or alcohol-based products. To maintain the bag's shape, store upright when not in use. The brass fittings can be gently buffed with a dry cloth to keep their shine
